DECLINING POPULATIONS
The video says Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Alaska, Vermont, West Virginia and Mississippi are the top 10 states that are being abandoned, but the table below doesn’t bear that out so far, although the last census was 5 years ago and maybe the video is referring to states that are losing the most young people.
In 1980, 5 states grew by less than 5% (Red Stars): NY, ND, PA, SD, WV.
In 2000, 4 states grew by less than 5%: IA & PA >0%; ND & WV <0%.
In 2020, 7 states grew by less than 5%: IL, LA, MI, MS, OH, RI, WV. These states may be headed for the quickest declines.
WV shrank the most in 2000, but not much in 2020. Maybe coal mining increased its population a bit.
AK grew a lot since 1960, probably because of the North Slope oil, which is decreasing.
MT, WY, ND, SD, IA were declining, but then increased some, due to the ND oil shale, I reckon, but the oil is peaking.
PA increased after declining, again maybe due to increased coal mining.
COOPS & COOPOCRACY CAN HELP
Coops can improve governments, which can then improve economy & infrastructure, which can increase population.
Do you mean chicken coops?
huh?
