Not Important, Slightly Interesting
STOLEN CAR CHASE & CRASH (from June 5th apparently)
I’ll explain what interested me about this at the end below. The 3rd image shows which car was being chased. The images below show only the last few seconds of the chase and the capture of the thief.
PS, the video was aired by WBNS 10 TV in Columbus, OH, which is in Franklin County Ohio. I checked it out on Google Maps and found that it started on Rt 317 S. Hamilton Rd turning left onto Refugee Rd long way then left onto Brice Rd left to Chantry Dr right to Park Crescent Dr right to Scarborough Blvd which after crossing Brice Rd again becomes Tussig Rd. After a long way the crash occurred at Tussig and Rt 256 Hill Road N, next to Pisgah Cemetery. At the end below I’ll post the Video start and the Google street view and maybe a map of the route. I’m just messing around.
Next Image is the beginning of the crash.
In next image, it looks like the crashed car dented the whole side of the white van. The car turning right was too close to the white van for the Honda to pass between them. Apparently the driver tried to squeeze through, but having too little room, something caused the right side to raise off the ground. Maybe he tried to make a sharp right turn in front of the right-turning car. I don’t know what else might have caused the flip.
In next image someone finally comes out of the half turned over car.
Next they got the guy standing up, wearing white shoes & bluish pants with a white vertical stripe, hands cuffed.
Next he’s being escorted to nearest cop car on the right.
Next it looks like they blurred out another person getting out of the crashed car. Can’t really tell though if there was actually a second person.
What interested me originally was how the fleeing car was able to turn on its side so easily while squeezing between two vehicles. I had to think about it a bit to guess that making a sharp right turn could have caused it, even though I’m not sure that’s what happened. That’s just the most likely thing I can think of.
I also just noticed that I can press the up or down key on my computer with the cursor on any of the above images and the video will play on those images, going backward with the up arrow and forward with the down arrow. At least it does it while editing. I’ll try again after publishing this post.
It works similarly, but in editing mode if I press the up or down button on an image and hold it that way, I see all of the images. But in published mode, I have to keep press and let up and keep repeating that. That’s strange. It looks like the images are being treated as a slide show.
UPDATE: Next image is the Start scene.
Next is comparing with Google Maps at Rt 317 & Refuge Rd, Columbus, OH. The colors are very weak from the dashcam above. You can’t see the blue sky or the red stop lights. Green looks strongest of the colors.
Finally comes a map of the total route of 7.8 miles.
