As domestic oil production drops, power plants and industry are switching to cheap coal and natural gas, but vehicle fuel is likely to go way up. Alternative energy is only about 0.5% per year. Nuclear power needs to be expanded quickly, while alternative energy may start to pick up with better tech becoming available.
