Just saw an ad on Youtube for a new search engine, resulthunter.com. The ad said the engine puts more conservative results toward the top and more liberal results toward the bottom. I’m not conservative, but conservatives are smarter about the damn vaxes, so I tried out the search engine on the word “antivax”. The results look about the same to me as I would expect other search engine results to look, making out as if antivax is STUPID, UNSCIENTIFIC, CONSPIRACY BS. I’m disgusted as usual, since all search engines are like that now, maybe with the exception of Ecosia.org. And that’s ironic, since Ecosia is a liberal search engine. But it actually seems to less biased than other search engines. I may be wrong, but that’s how it seemed to me a few months ago when I first heard of it and tried it out.
I’ve done brief tests with other search engines in that time too. Here are the ones I can remember trying out, except I don’t know if I tried out Bing.com. I guess I don’t have to mention that I tried Google, but too late. I just now tried StartPage.com and it seems like it might be slightly better than others, maybe excepting Ecosia.org. Others are DuckDuckGo.com, BraveSearch.com, Presearch.com, FreeSpoke.com … well that’s all I remember right now. There may be one or more others I tried and was not impressed with.
I had another post some months ago warning to use the internet wisely. I referenced a video by Jimmy Corsetti (?), Brightside on Youtube. He pointed out that the search engines no longer show many search results. They used to say they found millions of results in a few seconds. Some still do, like Google, but after a few pages they stop showing any more. And if you look closely at each page, you find that many of the results are repeats of the same webpages or websites over and over.
Webpage builders and others learn about SEO, search engine optimization, which is supposed to help your site get seen by the search engines, but I question whether that really does much good any more. The ruling class owners of the big tech companies seem to be intent on clamping down on alternative sources of info online.
Hopefully, such a plot won’t succeed excessively. Or, if it does succeed, it will hopefully lead sooner to the End Times for the Beast, the ruling class. If anyone has more uplifting news on this subject, or has ideas on possible ways to bypass the search engine bottleneck, or improve the distribution of alternative info to the public, be my guest to comment.
Just another conservative grift...
